Photolithography Process Development Engineer – Micron R&D

In this role, you will develop process modules for memory devices, drive photolithography and process integration, and provide technology transfers to Micron’s manufacturing network. You will address process issues on pilot line manufacturing and lead continuous improvement of manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Document procedures, transfer developed processes, and communicate results with senior management and manufacturing partners.
• Work with equipment vendors to improve design, test new equipment, and drive process improvements.
• Optimize cell yield, failure analysis, and device performance through process techniques.
• Prepare written reports and presentations outlining R&D project plans, progress, and results.
• Review literature for IP opportunities and file disclosures.
• Lead the photolithography process technology roadmap.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of optics, including immersion lithography, polarized illumination, and low‑k1 imaging.
• Experience with lithography chemicals for 365, 248, and 193nm process.
• Knowledge of lithography simulation software and low‑k1 imaging application.
• Experience with material properties characterization techniques for lithography.
• Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation.
• Strong interest in R&D and ability to deliver production‑worthy technologies.
• Familiarity with Micron memory product architecture, semiconductor process flows, and steps.

Education

• Ph.D. in Physics, Optics/Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience (considered for qualified candidates).
