Qualifications

• Degree in Early Childhood, Educational Studies in Early Years Enrichment or Literacy, English Language or English Literature.
• At least 2 years of work experience in curriculum planning, development, training and teaching phonics and reading to young learners.
• Strong command of English, spoken and written with excellent academic track record in English Language.
• Good class management skills with children of all ages and backgrounds.
• Energetic, creative, enthusiastic, patient and enjoys teaching children in a fun and exciting manner.
• Willing to work 3 weekdays and both weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).

Responsibilities

• Research, source, plan and develop high quality curriculum with creative content in line with teaching pedagogies.
• Plan and prepare weekly lessons to provide high-quality learning experiences and meet objectives.
• Coordinate review and update curriculum to meet teaching objectives.
• Develop and conduct training programmes for teachers implementing the curriculum.
• Conduct pre-assessments and progress assessments to monitor reading proficiency and goals.
• Teach the Wonderlit Read and Read+ curriculum with prescribed materials and pedagogy.
• Perform ad-hoc duties for full-time teachers.
• Maintain high work standards, punctuality and order.
• Be an ambassador for Wonderlit with children, parents and stakeholders.

Job description

Wonderlit is seeking a dynamic and creative individual with a strong foundation in phonics and English to deliver our literacy programme to children ages 3 and above.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Research, source, plan and develop high quality curriculum with creative content in line with set teaching pedagogies and requirements.
• Plan and prepare weekly lessons in line with the requirements to provide high-quality learning experiences, meeting set objectives.
• Coordinate review and feedback on the curriculum and update lessons on a continuous basis to meet teaching objectives.
• Develop and conduct training programmes for teachers implementing the curriculum.
• Conduct pre-assessments of new students and progress assessments for existing students to monitor reading proficiency levels and set development/improvement goals.
• Teach the Wonderlit Read and Read+ curriculum with prescribed teaching materials, aids and pedagogy and in ways that excite curiosity and facilitate active learning, cultivating a love for reading.
• Perform any ad-hoc duties or responsibilities assigned (for full time teachers only).
• Maintain a high standard of work ethic, punctuality, good discipline and order.
• Be an ambassador for Wonderlit at all times with children, parents and other external stakeholders.
