Job summary

SATA COMMHEALTH is seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our Medical Centre for Migrant Workers. You will interact directly with patients to collect quality blood samples for diagnostic testing and ensure sample integrity through careful handling.

The role requires venipuncture proficiency, patient comfort, and accurate data entry. Work location is Woodlands Industrial Park E7 or Kranji Close with a 5.5-day workweek, Mon–Fri 8:30 am–4:30 pm and Sat 8:30 am–12:30 pm, Singapore.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Phlebotomy.
• 2 years of venipuncture experience in hospital, clinic, or laboratory setting.
• Excellent manual dexterity and a steady hand for draws.
• Strong interpersonal skills to comfort anxious patients and communicate with medical staff.
• Basic computer literacy; Clinic Assist software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture on at least 40 patients per session in the morning and afternoon.
• Verify patient identification using at least two identifiers before collection procedures.
• Label, match, and sort collected blood specimens with requisition forms and labels.
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis, including transport preparation.
• Maintain infection control and dispose of biohazard waste safely.
• Provide patient care and calmly explain procedures while monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Order and maintain inventory of phlebotomy carts and workstations, ensuring supplies are stocked.
• Enter patient and specimen data accurately into the CAS System.
• Assist with supervision of Phlebotomy students as needed.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or Nurse-in-Charge.

• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis, including preparing samples for transport.
• Maintain strict infection control by adhering to safety, sanitation, and biohazard waste disposal protocols.
• Provide exceptional patient care, calmly explaining procedures and monitoring patients for adverse reactions like dizziness or fainting.
• Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of phlebotomy carts and workstations, ensuring all supplies are stocked and unexpired.
