Job Overview:
Our team is responsible for driving new opportunities to grow and strengthen CFS’s mission of empowering givers to fulfil their philanthropic purpose for good. The incumbent will support our Philanthropy Advisor in managing and growing donor relationships and will also be the key relationship manager for a portfolio of donor-advised fund accounts.
The position is a contract position for maternity cover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of donors, cultivating and sustaining active relationships that encourage and inform their charitable giving, including encouraging strategic large gifts.
- Engage and guide a broad range of donor types from self-directed, to donors who have yet to take advantage of CFS’s advisory services, as well as those open to exploring complex charitable programmes.
- Provide strategic philanthropy advisory to corporate and individual donors, helping them articulate, plan and achieve their giving goals through impactful programme recommendations.
- Deliver a positive and meaningful experience to donors.
- Proactively provide timely information and respond to donors’ philanthropy priorities. Collaborate across teams to facilitate fund administration and donations.
- Connect donors to meaningful funding opportunities by collaborating with internal stakeholders on philanthropy recommendations and grantmaking.
- Engage donors through donor learning trips, donor luncheons, charity visits and other opportunities.
- Upholds donor confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Grants teams to showcase donors and their giving.
- Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A Diploma or Degree from an accredited tertiary institution, or equivalent qualifications.
- Relevant experience of at least 3 years in finance, administrative and other client support roles will be a plus.
- Meticulous with an eye for detail in managing data, documentation and donor communications.
- Comfortable working with digital platforms and databases, and proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to manage varied and conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage confidently with a senior and diverse donor base.
- Proactive and adaptable; able to work both independently and collaboratively across teams, to accomplish joint tasks and common objectives.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret donor needs, assess giving opportunities and navigate ambiguity or challenges with clarity and sound judgment.
- Brings a positive attitude and a genuine sense of joy and purpose to working with donors and making a difference in the community.
- Able to commit for a minimum of 6 months from mid-August 2025
