    We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PhD Student to join our joint research collaboration between NTU - College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) and Bosch Digital, working at the cutting edge of Trustworthy and Sustainable AI, and Federated Learning. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful research that bridges academia and industry, shaping how machine learning is used in critical, high-stakes environments.

    What you will do (Key Responsibilities)

    • Tackle real-world challenges to make ML systems fair, transparent, and robust.
    • Conduct innovative research on accountability, bias mitigation, robustness, explainability, and privacy.
    • Collaborate with world-class researchers from both academia and industry.
    • Work in state-of-the-art labs and gain exposure to real-life applications in autonomous systems, manufacturing, and smart mobility.
    • Publish, present, and contribute to the global research community in ML safety and AI governance.
    • What We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Skills)

      • Singaporean or Permanent Resident (to be eligible for EDB-IPP program).
      • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
      • Fulfill the NTU PhD admission requirements.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Curious, self-motivated, able to work independently, and with a passion to tackle real-world problems through research.
      • Relevant research experience in the field of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science.
      • Familiarity with concepts of fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in AI/ML is a plus.
      • Strong academic record, with at least one publication in top-tier conferences or peer-reviewed journals (preferred).
      • Fresh degree holders with excellent academic results are also encouraged to apply.

        About the IPP PhD program:

        The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) Industrial Postgraduate Programme (IPP) is an initiative by EDB to build a pool of postgraduate manpower in Singapore with critical R&D skill-sets for R&D roles in the industry through graduate training in a corporate R&D environment. EDB will provide funding support to the participating company and trainee, including the IPP trainee’s tuition fees. The support duration for each trainee is capped at 4 years per PhD, or 2 years per MSc.
