A leading hospice organization in Singapore is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Support to oversee pharmacy operations. Key responsibilities include inventory management, ensuring compliance with SOPs, and supporting administrative duties. Ideal candidates will possess a GCE O Level and relevant pharmacy experience, with opportunities to mentor interns.
The incumbent is responsible for supporting the pharmacy operations in HCA. He or She ensures adherence to the policies and procedures for issuance, safekeeping and record keeping of controlled and non-controlled medical supplies.
CLINICAL FUNCTIONS
Monitors storage of non-controlled drugs and surgical items at our main pharmacy store located in
headquarters.
Monitors drug expiries and medication and medical supplies stock levels.
Conducts monthly inventory checks of pharmacy stock at all satellite centres and day
hospice centres, audits the pharmacy store for compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), including safe keeping of medication and consumable items. Reports to
Pharmacist in the event that unsafe practices are found.
Does inventory check at least twice yearly. Updates the inventory report.
After each monthly inventory, to supply the low stock items to satellite through mail run once a month,
ensuring all the items are delivered, recorded in electronic medical record system. Checks that nurses
acknowledge receipt of supplies.
Mentors and guides Pharmaceutical Science intern acquires the safe and correct practices..
Handles donated pharmaceutical items by sorting (following guidelines) to recycle or dispose the drugs appropriately.
Checks the stocks and consumption of controlled drugs (CD) monthly, including their
expiry dates, together with the Pharmacist. Prepare purchase order as per SOP.
ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS
Supports pharmacy related administrative duties.
Maintains pharmacy system’s records.
Provides updates on suppliers’ information to clinical teams.
Prepare purchase order requisitions forms when main stock items are at less than 30% levels.
Monitors the delivery of supplies and arranges the invoices to be paid by Finance
Department after they are checked and signed by Pharmacist.
Adheres to organisational policies and procedures.
Participates in departmental and organisational activities and events.
Requirements
GCE O Level with experience in related fields.
Candidates with Certified Pharmacy Technician Course or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences, with at
least 1 year working experience.
