An Informatics Pharmacist is part of the team supporting existing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems and Pharmacy Systems to facilitate safe and efficient work processes and optimization of pharmacy practice.
Job responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%):
Maintain system setups by ensuring timely updates that support ground processes and changes. This also includes the training and education of Healthcare Professionals in the safe and effective use of EMR and Pharmacy systems in the Organization.
Troubleshoot and/or evaluate issues in System(s) or work processes through close collaboration with System Support team and Pharmacy Users to optimize the use of and enhancement of System(s) and/or work process changes to address any challenges.
Review test plans and conduct Systems testing for any enhancements or optimization.
These systems include Next Generation Electronic Medical Record (NGEMR), National Harmonized Integrated Pharmacy System (NHIPS) and National Billing System (NBS). Staff will be expected to work with fellow team members in the department in leading or supporting these projects’ implementation in Alexandra Hospital. This will also involve close collaboration with stakeholders across departments and other Institutions to ensure a seamless transition and implementation.
This will include discussion with stakeholders to plan the workflows with new systems, configuration of the systems and intensive Systems testing to ensure the systems are configured correctly. Training and onboarding of users are part of the change management plan which will be co-developed and co-owned with team members within the Organization.
Co-lead and/or support various Inpatient or Outpatient Pharmacy automation systems in the planning and development of specifications of key automation functions for value-streamlined processes in medication management. Collaborate with all stakeholders, including Nurses, Operations colleagues and external parties like Synapxe and identified Vendor teams for a seamless implementation of a well-integrated end-to-end system that’s safe, efficient and easy-to-use for our staff and patients.
New systems are progressively implemented with an increasingly complex setup; staff will be required to support and enforce a standardized, well-defined, and described process to ensure System setups are configured accurately.
