Job summary

WuXi Biologics is seeking an experienced Utility Engineer to oversee the engineering, operation, and lifecycle management of Clean Utilities (CU) systems, including WFI, purified water, pure steam, and process gases. The role spans project and operational phases, ensuring GMP-compliant design, installation, validation, and maintenance.

You will collaborate with production, validation, quality, and external suppliers to drive technical excellence, risk management, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering.
• 3–5 years of utilities engineering experience; 5+ years in pharma/GMP facilities.
• Experience in commissioning, qualification, and lifecycle management of CU systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance in installation and validation of clean utilities systems (WFI, purified water, pure steam, gases) ensuring GMP compliance.
• Lead installation of black utilities systems (compressed air, boilers, cooling towers, etc.).
• Own equipment package lifecycle from spec, vendor selection, procurement to installation and qualification.
• Support commissioning, qualification, and handover with proper documentation and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with production, validation, and quality for seamless project execution and handover.
• Engage with global design teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to align objectives and communication.
• Review CU/BU design documents and rectify deficiencies to meet GMP/site standards.
• Support risk assessments (FMEA, HAZOP) to identify and mitigate system risks.
