Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Permit Declarant to join our Ocean Freight E-commerce team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and managing customs declarations and permits required for the import and export of goods via ocean freight, ensuring full compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations and import permits for ocean freight e-commerce shipments.
• Liaise with customs authorities, port operators, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure the timely clearance of cargo.
• Verify shipping documents such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively address any customs-related delays or issues.
• Ensure adherence to local and international trade regulations, including HS code classification and valuation.
• Maintain and update records of declarations, permits, and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
• Stay current with changes in customs legislation, import/export regulations, and trade compliance policies.
• Assist in internal audits and reporting related to customs compliance and risk management.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (2+ years) in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or a similar role within e-commerce logistics.
• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures for ocean freight.
• Familiarity with international trade terms (Incoterms), HS coding, and trade documentation.
• Certification as a Permit Declarant or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in customs clearance software and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cross-border e-commerce logistics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with tight deadlines.
