Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the vision, educational goals, and priorities to guide curriculum for the assigned domain/level/track.
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of school-based curriculum or programmes for the assigned domain/level/track.
- Customize curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment methods to enhance students’ learning experiences in the assigned domain/level/track.
- Implement a framework for monitoring and evaluating instructional programmes, classroom practices, and student progress for the assigned domain/level/track.
- Integrate IEP/ITP goals into lesson planning; collaborate with families and allied professionals to achieve desired outcomes for all students in the assigned domain/level/track.
- Develop and implement programmes to support student character development and social-emotional skills.
- Create professional development roadmaps and in-house programmes for the assigned domain/level/track.
- Facilitate school professional learning teams and network learning communities within the SPED sector.
- Seek learning opportunities and set stretch goals for personal professional and holistic development.
- Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to teachers to encourage performance improvement and reflective practice.
- Evaluate the progress and performance of direct reports (teachers) and provide coaching/mentoring.
- Lead cross-functional teams to plan and implement school or organization-wide programmes, initiatives, or events.
- Establish and develop partnerships with stakeholders such as families, community or mainstream partners, and allied professionals to achieve desired outcomes.
- Develop communication materials for families, community or commercial partners related to programmes or initiatives.
- Foster a culture of integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and innovation within the assigned domain/level/track.
- Lead the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of work plans and initiatives aligned with the school’s vision and priorities.
- Manage the budget and resources for the assigned domain/level/track.
- Support the development and implementation of induction programmes for new staff.
- Assist in the selection and assessment of senior/teacher assistants and teachers.
- Participate in organization-wide programmes and initiatives.
- Undertake any other relevant duties as assigned by the Principal, AWWA CEO, or School Management Committee.
Requirements:
- Degree preferably in Special Education.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a Senior Teacher role.
- Experience working with persons with disabilities is an advantage.
