Job summary

Sembcorp Gas Pte Ltd in Singapore invites a motivated engineer to support performance monitoring across GTs, HRSGs, BOPs, and BESS. You will analyze plant data to improve efficiency, heat rate, and availability, and help build dashboards for proactive performance management.

The role requires collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Digital teams, plus strong analytical and communication skills to drive energy optimization.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant performance, process engineering, operations support, or power generation engineering.
• Familiar with power plant performance concepts such as heat rate and efficiency.
• Able to analyze data and identify performance improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Support performance monitoring and optimization across power generation assets to ensure reliable operations.
• Monitor and analyze plant performance data to evaluate efficiency, heat rate, availability, and reliability.
• Track KPIs, identify gaps, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify degradation and operational risks through trend analysis and data-driven assessments.
• Develop and enhance digital performance monitoring tools, dashboards, and analytics.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Digital teams on optimization initiatives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Support performance monitoring and optimization across power generation assets (GT, HRSG, BOP, BESS) to ensure reliable and efficient plant operation
• Monitor and analyze plant performance data to evaluate efficiency, heat rate, availability, reliability, and operational effectiveness
• Track and report performance KPIs, identify performance gaps, and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Identify performance degradation, abnormal operating conditions, and operational risks through trend analysis and data-driven assessments
• Evaluate the impact of operating regimes, including load changes, start-ups, shutdowns, and cycling operations on plant performance
• Conduct operational analysis and performance diagnostics to identify optimization opportunities and energy losses
• Support performance improvement projects aimed at enhancing plant efficiency, availability, asset utilization, and operating cost performance
• Develop and enhance digital performance monitoring tools, dashboards, and analytics platforms for proactive performance management
• Assist in developing and maintaining performance-related procedures, standards, and reporting workflows
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Digital teams to implement performance optimization initiatives and operational best practices.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or equivalent
• 2-5 years of experience in plant performance, process engineering, operations support, or power generation engineering.
• Basic knowledge of thermal power plant systems (GT, HRSG, Steam Cycle, BOP; BESS is an advantage).
• Familiarity with power plant performance principles, including heat rate, efficiency, energy balance, and operational KPIs.
• Ability to analyze plant operational and process data to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Exposure to performance monitoring systems, data analytics tools, or digital performance platforms is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive, self-driven, and adaptable in a plant environment.
