Job description

The Role

The role supports the HR function across the Asia region by executing the People strategy in alignment with goals set by business leaders and the VP, People Partners. It is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of HR processes and initiatives, acting as a key advisor on performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, compensation and benefits, workplace services, ensure compliance with labor laws, and support learning and development initiatives. The role also contributes to strategic HR projects and continuous improvement efforts.

Additionally, the role is the primary contact for Korean employees and external partners including payroll vendors, pension providers, legal advisors, and government agencies such as Korea’s Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL). The role also provides support for people-related matters in Singapore, China, Japan, and other locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute the People strategy in alignment with goals set by business leaders and the VP, People Partners
  • Support managers by helping them coach their teams, solve people issues, and build a positive work environment.
  • Support employee engagement by assisting in the planning and execution of initiatives that boost morale, encourage feedback, and strengthen team connection and workplace culture
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues by engaging relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure fair, timely, and effective outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws by monitoring regulatory changes, creating and updating HR policies, maintaining legally compliant practices, and coordinating with legal advisors and government agencies as needed
  • Support learning and development by coordinating training programs, promoting continuous learning, and helping employees build skills aligned with business needs
  • Contribute to strategic HR projects and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support Korean employees and external partners including payroll vendors, pension providers, legal advisors, and government agencies such as Korea’s Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL)
  • Share insights into Korean workplace culture and labor regulations
  • · Collaborate with the wider People team to provide effective and efficient HR support
  • Partner with business leaders and key stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations, providing them with practical and tactical HR guidance and support
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors including payroll, legal, training, benefits providers, Employer of Record services, and Contract of Service partners while overseeing contract negotiations and managing service level agreements
Qualifications & Expertise
  • IHRP certified, CIPD qualified or equivalent recognised HR professional qualifications
  • Fluency in both Korean and English is a must (spoken and written)
  • Familiar with Korean labor regulations
  • Willingness and ability to travel to provide in-person support and build strong working relationships with local employees and partners
  • Experienced in supporting regional management at all organizational levels
  • Experienced in both operational and tactical HR
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management, consistently delivering high-quality results within deadlines through careful planning and attention to detail
