Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst (Payments) with strong experience in banking technology, payment processing, and system design. The successful candidate will play a key role in requirements gathering, system analysis, and data modeling to support SMBC's payment transformation projects.

This position requires deep technical and analytical expertise in payment systems, strong communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset. Experience with Agile software development methodologies is essential.

Works in the area of Software Engineering, which encompasses the development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications. The role includes applying scientific methods to analyze and solve software engineering problems, developing and applying software engineering practices, supervising other engineers, and collaborating with teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis
   Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and system requirements.
   Conduct system analysis and data modeling to support payment processing solutions.
   Analyze complex system interactions and identify potential issues and solutions.
   Document business requirements (BRD), functional specifications (FSD), and interface specifications.
2. Solution Design & Development Support
   Work closely with development teams to design system architectures and data models aligned with business needs.
   Provide technical inputs on payment processing infrastructures (e.g., ACH, SWIFT, FAST Payments, APIs, Virtual Accounts, Liquidity Management).
   Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to user stories and acceptance criteria.
3. Testing & Implementation Support
   Assist in System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing.
   Validate that solutions meet business requirements and industry standards (SWIFT, ISO 20022).
   Support post-implementation reviews and issue resolution.
4. Documentation & Compliance
   Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system architecture diagrams, interface specifications, process workflows, and data models.
   Ensure documentation aligns with standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting
   Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment.
   Provide updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
   Escalate issues promptly.

Requirements:

• Technical Skills: Proficient in system design, data modeling, programming concepts, and database management systems (SQL, NoSQL). Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Analytical Skills: Strong background in banking technology, including cash management products, payment workflows, system integrations, and APIs. Proven ability to analyze complex systems and recommend solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong skills in addressing system issues and improving operational efficiency, with awareness of industry trends.
