Who We Need

This role is responsible for providing essential administrative assistance to the laboratory's daily operations and ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of services to patients.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Provide efficient counter service and answer phone calls in a professional and timely manner.
  • Act as the liaison between patients, relatives, and staff, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Accurately input patient biodata into the Integrated Hospital Information System (iHIS).
  • Acquire knowledge of sample requirements for various laboratory tests to assist with processing.
  • Perform order entry for laboratory tests into the medical record system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the orders.
  • Process histology specimens and complete paperwork for dispatch to designated referral laboratories.
  • Coordinate with dispatch personnel to ensure timely and efficient delivery of specimens to analysis sections and referral laboratories.
  • Scan referral laboratory reports into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for record-keeping.
  • Sort and manage laboratory reports, ensuring they are released to requesters via fax, hard copy, or email as required.
  • Check billing for laboratory tests to ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Prepare requisitions for laboratory department stationery requirements.
  • Assist with collation of workload statistics for histology samples.
  • Oversee the orientation and on-the-job training of new PSAs.
  • Conduct competency assessments of PSAs for administrative duties.

How to Succeed

  • Possesses a Diploma qualification in any discipline.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including spreadsheets and word processing
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer service or administrative roles.
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm and Saturday: 8am to 1pm (required to work on Sunday and PH).
