Job description

The role requires you to conduct bedside financial counselling for admitted patients in a consistent and comprehensive manner on estimated / interim / finalised medical costs.

You will need to assist patients in understanding and sourcing their financing options to reduce upfront cash burdens, empowering them to make informed decisions based on their affordability.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Counselling / Admission

  • Conduct financial counselling to patients/NOK on estimated hospital bills, available subsidies, schemes, and payment modes.
  • Assist patients in completing various payment forms.
  • Refer appropriate cases to the Business Office/Medical Social Worker for financial assistance schemes.
  • Ensure proper documentation and follow-up until patient discharge.

Patient Billing Matters

  • Assist patients/NOK with billing enquiries.
  • Collect deposits and outstanding bills for eligible patients.
  • Collect payments for items ordered by the medical team.
  • Perform daily settlements for NETS/Credit Card transactions.

Handling and Processing of National Forms (NEFR/MCAF/MT)

  • Explain and advise on forms and required documentation.
  • Ensure timely submission of forms and proper updates in the SAP system.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and professionalism in reception areas.
  • Respond to emails promptly.
  • Raise e-BARFs and merge requests correctly and timely.
  • Manage departmental supplies inventory.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma from any discipline.
  • Good knowledge of CPF and insurance matters for financial counselling.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.
  • Team player with the ability to interact across healthcare levels.
  • Approachable, independent, proactive, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and challenges.
  • Willing to perform 3 rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Current office hours: Mon-Fri 8:30-6pm, Sat 8:30-5:30, Sunday off. Future shifts may include early mornings and evenings with one weekday and Sunday off. Able to commit to a 2-year contract.

Salary up to $2400.
