Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, bake, and plate a variety of pastries and bakeries following Candlenut’s recipes and standards.
- Ensure consistency and quality in all pastry items.
- Work closely with the Pastry Chef and kitchen team to execute daily service efficiently.
- Assist in developing new pastry items that complement Candlenut’s Peranakan cuisine.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry section.
- Uphold hygiene and food safety regulations as per SFA standards.
- Monitor ingredient inventory, assist in ordering, and ensure proper storage.
- Assist in special events, private dining, and catering requests when required.
- Contribute to a positive team culture by supporting and respecting fellow teammates.
- Be open to learning and refining pastry techniques to elevate your craft.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 1 year in similar capacity and experience.
- A culinary school certification or a diploma is a plus. Practical experience and basic education will also be considered.
- Previous experience in a pastry or bakery kitchen is preferred.
- Passion for pastry-making and a keen interest in Peranakan flavors.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with precision and efficiency.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated ability to check freshness of food and ingredients prior to cooking.
- Substantial knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
