We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef with leadership qualities. Passionate about ingredients and committed to producing cakes, desserts, and confections of exceptional standards. Experience in a busy bakery or manufacturing kitchen is essential, especially in a fast-paced & physically demanding environment. Knowledge of bread-making is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Central Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily production of pastries, cakes, and baked goods, ensuring quality and consistency. Collaborate with the executive chef on new recipes and products.
  2. Team Leadership: Supervise and train pastry staff, develop their skills, and foster a positive team environment. Conduct performance reviews and communicate progress to management.
  3. Costing: Monitor budgets, control wastage, and implement efficient production schedules to maximize profitability.
  4. Quality Control: Maintain high standards by conducting taste tests, visual inspections, and resolving quality issues.
  5. Food Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conduct regular audits, and train staff on hygiene protocols.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a central or manufacturing kitchen
  • Deep knowledge of pastry techniques and ingredients
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Creativity in recipe development and presentation
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Educational Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Pastry Arts, Culinary, or equivalent
