Job summary

A leading company in the culinary sector is looking for a Pastry Chef to prepare and present pastries in accordance with company standards. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of relevant experience and a WSQ Food Hygiene Certificate. This position offers a monthly salary of between $2,200 and $2,600, along with performance bonuses and numerous staff benefits.

Job description

Salary: Basic $2,200 - $2,600 + performance bonus

Time: 10 hours per day (including a 1 hour break), on a 5.5 day workweek

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, bake and present pastry effectively and efficiently, meeting the company operations manual and gold standards.

  • Assist in the preparation, garnishing and presentation of pastry.

  • Responsible for stringent quality control procedures.

  • Maintaining a clean working environment at all times.

  • Ensure that procedures for suppliers, equipment, and work areas are in compliance to the established standards.

  • Assist in keeping food wastage to minimum, through correct product measurement.

  • Sharing knowledge, helping team members as and when required packing team must follow numbers on the packing sheets provided by head baker a day in advance.

  • Packers are expected to work both independently and as part of a team to assist the bakers with daily prep, but are not expected to handle dough or assist in bread production.

  • They should keep the kitchen equipment and production areas at a high standard of cleanliness.

  • Manage inventory and place orders for supplies.

  • Assist with cost control and budgetary planning.

Requirements:

  • Able to work as shift assigned and weekends.

  • At least 1 Year(s) of experience as pastry chef is preferred.

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations.

  • WSQ Food Hygiene Certificate preferred.

  • Proactive, attention to details, dependable, team player and good communication skills.
