WESLEY METHODIST CHURCH seeks a dedicated individual to join their ministry team, providing both pastoral and executive support. Key responsibilities include supporting leadership, pastoral care, and various ministry events. Applicants should possess relevant theological qualifications and interpersonal skills. This role requires flexibility for non-traditional schedules and a heart for service.
Being part of the ministry team, to provide pastoral and executive support to the congregation of Wesley Methodist Church. This person will be working in consultation with the Pastor-in-Charge and the Small Group Ministry (SGM) team to steer, direct, grow and develop the ministry, according to the strategic direction of the Church.
Responsibilities
• To support the leadership team and Chairperson in providing spiritual and ministry leadership in SGM, including planning of key ministry events.
• To support zone leaders in pastoral care and spiritual leadership to assigned zones.
• To provide leadership and support in the various sub-ministry teams:
• Flowering Strategy Team, (b) SGM Prayer, and (c) SGM Communications
• Congregational staff for weekend and special services.
• Any other role, responsibilities and activities assigned by the Church.
Requirements
• Ability and willingness to work non-traditional schedules which includes evenings, public holidays and weekends.
• A servanthood heart to serve the church members, committee members, volunteers, staff team members and others.
• Able to work independently and as a team player with a positive attitude who can adapt and thrive in a dynamic organizational environment, whilst striving for continuous improvement through evaluation and feedback.
• Great Communication and Interpersonal skills that can foster a strong relationship in the ministry.
• Great Sense-Making skills to organize and analyse data and information accurately, to identify relationships and detect patterns and trends to gain insights for decision-making.
• Great Creative Thinking skills to adopt a fresh perspective to combine ideas or information in new ways and make connections between seemingly unrelated fields to create new ideas and modes of working.
• Great Resource Management skills to use resources to ensure optimum and efficient use of resources.
• Great Service Orientation skills to model, lead, train and motivate others to sustain a culture that encourages commitment to service excellence and high performance.
• Great Developing People skills to help others learn and develop their capabilities to enhance their performance and achieve personal spiritual goals.
• Great Leadership skills to provide an inclusive, open, cooperative environment that cultivates relationships and teamwork, and foster the development of others; Inspire, motivate and guide others to adopt a point of view, make changes or take action.
• Willing to go the extra mile for the ministry without seeking returns.
Qualifications and Experience
• Relevant theological qualifications (eg. MDiv) and/or experience in similar capacities.
• Worked in a Church or Parachurch organization.
