Part-Time Lecturer for Photography: DP3010 Moving Image for Media Artists

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as a part-time lecturer for an undergraduate course. The part-time position is for teaching Moving Image for Media Artists commencing in August 2025.

This intermediate course introduces students to the creative space that lies between image, sequenced image, motion-graphic, and video. Students will create artistic projects utilising time, movement and sound, and will expand imagery into time-based artistic formats and produce video art installations that can be presented in an exhibition context. Students will also gain a basic understanding of genres and forms of Video Art and other artist’s moving image work within contemporary art and wider media practice. One of the key aims is to develop an objective understanding of time-based media and the application in an artistic context, while engaging meaningfully with contemporary society through lens-based media.

Candidates should have at least a Master’s or related field with a track record of production and creative practice in media. Any past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level is preferred Preference will be given to candidates with a good understanding of contemporary photographic practices.
