Part-Time Lecturer for Foundation 4D I DN1004

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as Part-time Lecturer for DN1004 Foundation 4D. The Part-time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate course commencing in August 2025.

This 13-week studio course exposes students to basic concepts, elements, and principles used by artists and designers in 4D (time-based) creative practices. Drawing on historical and contemporary time-based creative practices, the course will provide opportunities for students to develop basic competencies, aesthetic, and creative problem-solving skills through the creation of short form time-based work that explores the potential of image, sound, time, and space in shaping viewer’s perception. The course provides students a context to explore and situate their creative interest for more advanced exploration of time-based creative practice.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Highly knowledgeable and proficient with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere.
2. Master's and/or PhD in Fine Art or other relevant subject.
3. Track record of exhibitions or industry experience.
4. Past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level.
5. Active artistic and design practice demonstrating versatility in time-based art and design practice (e.g. Photography, Illustration/Digital Painting, Film, Motion Graphics, Animation).
