Job summary

The Alternative Story Learning Centre PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Part-Time English Teacher to deliver 2-hour English tuition and Creative Writing classes for Primary and Secondary students, with weekend slots and flexible scheduling.

You will focus on engaging learners and supporting their growth in language and writing skills. We offer a month-long paid training and mentorship programme, ongoing theory and practical training, and an attractive compensation package to help you develop

Responsibilities

• Teach 2-hour English tuition and Creative Writing classes to Primary and/or Secondary students.
• Take 2 - 4 classes, including at least 1 weekend class.
• Participate in one-month paid training and mentorship programme.
• Contribute to ongoing theory and practical training to develop communication, mentoring and problem solving skills.

As a Part-Time English Teacher at The Alternative Story (T.A.S.), you will be teaching 2-hour English tuition and Creative Writing classes to Primary and/or Secondary School students. Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience teaching children in a classroom setting (MOE and/or special needs teaching background is a plus)
• Familiar with the Singapore Primary/Secondary School English syllabus and its challenges
• Graduate from a local university (NUS, NTU, SMU), local Junior College or local Polytechnic
• Open to teach at least Primary or Secondary School English

Key Details of the Role

• One-month paid training and mentorship programme to equip you to teach successfully
• Attractive compensation package
• Comprehensive theory and practical training will also be given on an ongoing basis, helping to continuously build your skills in areas such as communication, mentoring and problem solving
• Take 2 - 4 classes, inclusive of minimally 1 weekend class (2 hours per class)
• Able to work at one of the following locations at least - Bukit Timah Central, Tampines Central, Marine Parade Central, Ang Mo Kio Central
• Commit to work until end of 2027*
