Job summary

An early education company in Singapore is seeking part-time educators who are great with kids and passionate about storytelling. Responsibilities include leading fun educational programs and summer camps at several locations. Are you a natural with kids, love telling stories, and want to spark creativity in young minds? Join Chess at Three – where we teach kids through storytelling, chess, drama, and imaginative play!

WHO ARE WE?

Chess at Three is a US/ New York based venture capital backed early education company, newly launched in Singapore since August 2023 with strong growth plans. We have three original educational products that cater to children from ages 6 months to 11 years.

• Our signature product Chess at Three, introduces chess to children from the surprising age of three, through fun games and engaging stories. Children become successful chess players while also exploring the foundations of math, strategy and sportsmanship as they journey with a unique cast of characters on an exciting narrative adventure.
• Birchguard Quest is a speech and drama program for children aged 6 to 11, in the form of an educational roleplaying game, that develops creativity, collaboration, communication and leadership skills.

By harnessing the power of stories, Chess at Three’s award winning curriculum has been taught to over 150,000 children in homes, schools, and online around the world. In Singapore, we currently operate lessons in our club in United Square at Novena, or Harbourfront.

The Role:
We’re looking for energetic, passionate part-time educators to lead our regular programs and June holiday camps (Mon–Fri, 10am–1pm). You’ll work at our United Square club and at schools across Singapore.

June Camp Locations:
Beauty World, Tampines, Katong, United Square, Newton

Schedule:

• Training/ Shadow Teaching: 6 April to 29 June 2025: Every Sunday, 9am to 2pm (4 hours), venue: American Club (Total: 48 hrs)
• Teaching: 2 to 27 June: Mondays to Fridays, 9.30am to 6.30pm on Mondays to Thursdays with 1hr lunch break, Fridays 9.30am to 1pm (8 hours x 16 days + 4.5 x 4 days = 146 hrs)

Pay:

• Teaching: S$40/hr

You Are:

Great with kids, animated and engaging

Experienced in education, childcare, or storytelling

Comfortable leading small groups

Bonus: You know chess and/or Dungeons & Dragons!

Requirements:

Part-time availability (weekdays/some weekends)

Background in education, social work, drama, or similar

Must pass a background check
