Job summary

SoMe Music School in Singapore is seeking an experienced part-time choir instructor to lead the adult mums' choir, plan repertoire for each term, and organize performances and community activities. Rehearsals are weekly on Thursdays from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Holland Village.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 years’ experience leading a choir or teaching choral music, background in vocal performance or music education, and proficiency in English and Mandarin.

Part-Time Choir Instructor | SoMe Music School, Singapore

SoMe Music School is a music school in Singapore with multiple teaching studios and a growing team. Our adult mums' choir has been running for almost a year, and we are now looking for an experienced part-time choir instructor to lead the group into its next chapter, with new repertoire, performances and community activities.

Schedule & Location

• Every Thursday, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
• Holland Village, Singapore
• Part-time position

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly rehearsals for our adult mums' choir and plan repertoire for each term
• Teach vocal technique, part-singing, basic music theory and sight-singing
• Follow up with members on attendance and keep in regular contact with them
• Plan and lead choir activities and performances together with the school

Requirements

• Proven experience (minimum 2 years) leading a choir or teaching choral music; fresh graduates without prior teaching experience will not be considered
• Background in music, preferably in vocal performance, choral conducting or music education
• Adult choir experience is a plus; children's choir experience is also welcome
• Friendly, reliable and committed to teaching consistently
• Legally eligible to work in Singapore
• Able to communicate in English and Mandarin

Preferred

• Teachers who have their own choir members or student network are especially welcome.
