A leading law firm in Singapore is seeking a legal secretary to assist with various banking transactions. This includes providing administrative support, drafting documents, and coordinating with clients. Ideal candidates will have experience in the legal industry, particularly in banking, and possess strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Working experience as a legal secretary supporting a banking partner is highly desirable.
  • At least two years' related experience in the legal industry.

Job description

Main purpose of the role: To work with lawyers on various banking transactions, such as assisting with ACRA filings, e-stamping, assisting with conditions precedent, as elaborated on below.

Reports to: Partner – Banking

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing general administrative support to fee-earners including simple drafting based on precedents, reviewing and proof-reading legal documents.
  • Communicating and co-ordinating with clients and external parties in accordance with instructions from fee-earners.
  • Drafting simple ancillary documents (such as checklists, notices, corporate approvals and etc).
  • Preparing and filing of ACRA registrations and deregistrations.
  • Preparing online forms for e-stamping of documents.
  • Attending to E-stamping of documents such as share charge and/or debenture.
  • Obtaining business profile and run cause book searches with e-litigation platform.
  • Engrossing and issuing legal opinions.
  • Proofreading and formatting documents.
  • Preparing execution versions of loan and security documents and preparing execution instructions.
  • Collating executed documents.
  • Collating and/or preparing bible of documents after the matter is completed.

Key relationships: This role works closely with Partners, Associates, Trainees in the Banking team.

Person Specification:

Education / Qualifications / Experience:

  • Working experience as a legal secretary supporting a banking partner is highly desirable.
  • Otherwise at least two years' related working experience in the legal industry, preferably with prior experience in the Banking / Finance sector.
  • Willingness to learn.
