Job summary

DIRECT SEARCH ASIA PTE. LTD. seeks a seasoned professional to manage offshore contracts and claims, performing end‑to‑end claims handling and liability reviews for members, clients and prospects.

You will liaise with brokers, underwriters and internal teams to assess risk, monitor performance and provide actionable reporting. You will lead complex matters, contribute to loss prevention, and participate in marketing and client events.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales or a law degree.
• Extensive knowledge of global offshore and shipping industry contracting practices.
• Ability to lead work of high complexity and be a role model for colleagues.
• Strong initiative in claims handling and contract reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• English and Mandarin language ability preferred to communicate with clients.

• Handle expanding workload in the contracts and claims team.
• Oversee all claims handling in line with guidelines.
• Conduct detailed liability reviews of offshore contracts for members and clients.
• Monitor claims and contract submissions and report to senior stakeholders.

Job description

Role Overview

Responsible for managing offshore contracts and claims, including end-to-end claims handling and detailed liability reviews of offshore and shipping contracts for members, clients, and prospective clients. The role works closely with members, brokers, underwriters, and internal stakeholders to assess contractual and claims-related risks, monitor operational performance, and provide accurate reporting and advice. The position also contributes to loss prevention and business development activities, including industry seminars, client events, articles, and market communications, while supporting complex cases and maintaining strong client relationship

Key Responsibilities

• Handle the expanding workload in the contracts and claims team.
• Overall claims handling in accordance with Claims Guidelines and routines.
• Undertake detailed liability reviews of the full range of offshore contracts for members, clients and prospects.
• Continuously monitor claims, contract review submissions and operational performance of Clients under his/her responsibility and ensure effective reporting of relevant and useful information to Head of Business Unit, Head of Claims and Underwriting team.
• Build strong relationship with embers and Brokers.
• Promote Group in the market and partake in marketing efforts like seminars, gatherings and events.
• Contribute with articles, bulletins, circulars etc. for marketing and loss prevention purposes
• Actively participate in and provide valuable contribution to Support Groups Authority according to levels as defined in Company’s Authority levels.
• Work in compliance with current policies, instructions and guidelines in company Contribute to an open, friendly and trusting working environment.
