Responsibilities

• Manage Oracle DB security, vulnerability remediation, and compliance.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage Oracle database security, vulnerability remediation, patch lifecycle management, and operational support across enterprise environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting CVE assessments, planning and executing Oracle database patching activities, developing BigFix Fixlets, and ensuring Oracle databases remain secure, compliant, and highly available across SIT, UAT, DR, and Production environments.

This role requires strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration, Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPU), Oracle Release Updates (RU), security compliance, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Database Security & Vulnerability Management

• Perform CVE impact assessments for Oracle Database environments.
• Review Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPU), Release Updates (RU), and Security Advisories.
• Analyze security vulnerabilities and determine their impact on Oracle databases.
• Develop remediation strategies and security patch recommendations.
• Track vulnerability remediation and compliance status.

Oracle Database Patch Management

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate Oracle database patching activities.
• Apply Oracle Release Updates (RU), Release Update Revisions (RUR), and one-off patches.
• Perform patch deployment across SIT, UAT, DR, and Production environments.
• Develop rollback and contingency plans for patch implementations.
• Conduct pre-patch and post-patch validation activities.

BigFix Fixlet Development & Testing

• Develop and maintain BigFix Fixlets for Oracle database patch deployments.
• Perform Fixlet testing and validation in SIT environments.
• Troubleshoot deployment issues and optimize automation processes.
• Promote validated Fixlets through UAT and Production environments following change management approvals.

Oracle Database Administration

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Database environments.
• Perform database health checks and performance monitoring.
• Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN backup/recovery operations.
• Support database refresh, cloning, migration, and disaster recovery activities.
• Ensure database availability and performance meet business requirements.

Compliance, Reporting & Governance

• Prepare SLA and operational performance reports.
• Generate patch compliance and vulnerability remediation reports.
• Maintain database security and audit documentation.
• Support internal, external, and regulatory audit requirements.

Change & Release Management

• Participate in change planning, risk assessment, and CAB reviews.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with infrastructure, application, and security teams.
• Ensure all deployments follow enterprise change management procedures.
• Develop and maintain Oracle database runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Oracle Database 19c / 21c
• Oracle RAC
• Oracle Data Guard
• Oracle ASM
• Experience applying Oracle CPUs, Release Updates (RU), and Patch Set Updates.
• Knowledge of Oracle database security hardening and vulnerability management.
• Experience with BigFix administration and Fixlet deployment.
• Familiarity with ITIL Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Preferred Skills

• Hand-on experience on Oracle Database 19c, 21c experience.
• Shell scripting and automation tools.
• Oracle Database certification (OCP/OCA).
• Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery architectures.
