Job summary

A leading medical specialists centre in Singapore seeks an optometrist to perform eye examinations and assist in treatments. Responsibilities include operational tasks with diagnostic machines, patient care, and administrative duties. Training will be provided to enhance skillsets.

Qualifications

• Full Reg with some clinic experience preferred.
• Comfortable with using various eye diagnostic machines.
• Assists in LASIK and other procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform manifest/cycloplegic refraction for patients of all ages.
• General clinic administrative duties including appointment booking and patient records management.
• Monitor and maintain equipment in the eye department.

Full Reg with some clinic experience preferred. Training will be provided.

Perform manifest / cycloplegic refraction for all ages, comfortable with retinoscopy.

Other preliminary eye & vision tests including binocular vision tests.

Prescribing orthokeratology lenses.

General clinic administrative duties such as appointment booking, data entry & updating of patient database and records.

Pre- and post-surgery counselling including financial &insurance matters.

Washing & disinfection of instruments with autoclave.

Monitoring and ordering eye clinic stock and surgical consumables.

Perform pre- and post- op eye dressing.

Assist in preparation of eye medication for dispensing to patients.

Regular upkeep and maintenance of equipment in eye department.

Operate various eye diagnostic machines such as the slit lamp, OCT, visual field, topographer, a- & b-scan, wavefront aberrometer.

Assist in LASIK and other in-clinic procedures – full training will be provided.

Any other ad-hoc duties as assign by the Senior Optometrist, Doctor or Centre Manager
