Job summary

Singtel is recruiting for a network operations role in Singapore. You will study network utilization, plan capacity changes, and maintain accurate digital inventory records across DI systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with transport networks, DWDM, OTN, and Ethernet technologies, along with TCP/IP expertise. You will collaborate with internal teams for capacity requests and coordinate with external partners to ensure timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering/Telecommunications or related field.
• Experience in telecom environment with transport network, optical transmission and Ethernet technologies.
• Good understanding of transport network architectures including OTN and Ethernet, DWDM.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IP addressing, and routing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Study and analyse utilisation of network capacity resources; plan changes to optimise and expand the network.
• Generate monthly reports via digital inventory to monitor utilisation and trends.
• Ensure inventory assets and circuit routings are updated in the digital inventory promptly.
• Maintain accuracy of ILC infrastructure records in the Digital Inventory system.
• Enhance DI features to support services and automate circuit assignment with stakeholders.
• Streamline inventory control to improve operational efficiency.
• Document network designs and topology diagrams for reference and training.
• Collaborate with AM, CS, PM for capacity requests and new sales orders.

How You will Make An Impact:

• Study and analyse utilisation of the network capacity resources, plan and implement changes to optimise and expand the network.
• Generate monthly reports via digital inventory to monitor network utilisation, analyse trends and provide suggestions for improvement.
• Ensure all inventory assets, utilisation, circuit routings are updated in the digital inventory in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the inventory record accuracy of ILC infrastructure in Digital Inventory (DI) system including the bilateral fibre connectivity with partners.
• Enhance the features and usability of the DI to support ILC services and how the circuit assignment can be optimized/automated through DI by working with the portal development team and relevant stakeholders.
• Streamlined process for inventory control, to achieve leaner and efficient operations.
• Document network design, configurations topology diagrams for ongoing processes, references and training purposes.
• Collaborate with various internal stakeholders such as AM, CS, PM for capacity request and new sales order.
• To work with external parties including bilaterial partners and vendors.
• Perform Ad-hoc restoration during outage, plan restoration using existing available capacity within specific SLA.
• Manage different projects, monitor timeline and resources to ensure project delivery within specific timelines.
• To remain on standby via call during assigned week to support Operations and respond to urgent request and outages for circuit restoration.
• Go on site for assigned activities to work with vendors for system planning and implementation and migration activities.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Skills for Success:

• Diploma in Engineering/Telecommunications or in relevant field.
• Goal-oriented with good analytical skills to solve problem. Candidate must be committed and driven to deliver projects assigned on time.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Experience in telecom environment with focus on transport network, optical transmission and ethernet technologies.
• Good understanding of transport network architectures including OTN and Ethernet, DWDM.
• Flexible individual who is adaptable to change with a proactive mindset to take on new challenges.
• Good technical skill set with knowledge of L2 and L3 networking and strong understanding of TCP/IP, IP addressing, and routing protocols.
• Experience with networking hardware from major vendors.
