weo corporation pte. ltd. seeks a Technical Coating Manager based at the Singapore Headquarters to lead optical coating capabilities across Malaysia and China, driving improvements in design, processes and team capability.

You will report to the COO and steer initiatives that boost sales and profitability while building a highly skilled coatings workforce. The role involves leading back-end coating operations in Malaysia with frequent travel to Melaka, ensuring quality, delivery and cost targets

Formación

• Minimum 7 years of experience in optical coatings or a related field.
• Optical coating manufacturing; experience supporting coating operations across Malaysia and China factories.
• Proven track record managing coating operations and leading teams to achieve operational excellence.

• Drive improvement of optical coating design and processes across the Malaysia and China factories to achieve superior quality and performance.
• Develop strategies that increase sales and profitability through enhanced coating capabilities.
• Build and develop a highly skilled optics coating team that meets the technical demands of customers and the company.
• Implement training and mentorship initiatives to enhance technical competence and operational efficiency.
• Lead the engineering and production teams responsible for optics back-end processes, including USC, Coating Preparation, and Coating in the Malaysia factory.
• Drive continuous improvement in Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and Productivity.
• Foster communication and collaboration between the Malaysia and China optics teams to align objectives and best practices.
• Work with other departments to integrate new technologies and processes that enhance coating capabilities.
• Establish and enforce quality control measures aligned with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Regularly assess and refine processes to mitigate risks and improve overall product quality.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Technical Coating Manager will be based in the Malaysia factory and play a pivotal role in enhancing the company's optical coating capabilities across both the Malaysia and China factories. Reporting directly to the COO at the Singapore Headquarters, this position drives increased sales and profitability while developing a technically competent optics coating team. The role leads the engineering and production teams responsible for back-end processes, with a focus on continuous improvement in Malaysia factory operational performance.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

• Drive improvement of optical coating design and processes across the Malaysia and China factories to achieve superior quality and performance.


• Develop strategies that increase sales and profitability through enhanced coating capabilities.


• Build and develop a highly skilled optics coating team that meets the technical demands of customers and the company.

CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in optical coatings or a related field.


• Optical coating manufacturing; experience supporting coating operations across Malaysia and China factories.


• Proven track record managing coating operations and leading teams to achieve operational excellence.


• Optical coating design; coating process control and technologies; optics-related materials science; coating design software and analytical techniques; manufacturing quality control; Lean / Six Sigma continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum bachelor's degree in Optics, Photonics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
