What the role is:
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. We do this by working in partnership with the community to protect life and property, prevent crime and disorder, detect and apprehend offenders, and preserve a sense of security. SPF Ops-Tech Department (OTD) works to bridge between the operational users and technology counterparts with the aim to deliver user-friendly technologies that transform the way Police Officers fight crime. This includes leveraging advanced technology to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and support policing work.
As an Ops-Tech Officer, you will be working in cross-functional teams supporting various aspects of tech development, such as product management, project management, capability planning, data policy and governance, user experience design, etc. Multiple contract positions are available, including 1 team-leader position. Selected candidates may be considered for other positions after the expiry of contract if they perform well (subject to availability). You will be placed under Management Executive Scheme.
What you will be working on:
Examples of activities include:
- Development and implementation of the SPF Capability Map and ICT Heat Map to support planning and management of SPF ICT systems development.
- Product management for ICT projects to develop or enhance digital platforms and infrastructure for public-facing touchpoints, including collaboration with business stakeholders for requirements and vendors for system development.
- Responding to ICT incidents related to assigned ICT platforms or infrastructure, such as coordinating response and recovery in the event of unplanned downtime.
- Defining vision and roadmap for user experience, including implementing design standards for consistency across SPF projects.
- User experience design through journey mapping, business process re-engineering, and wireframing.
- Development and implementation of data policies to ensure appropriate and secure data use.
What we are looking for:
Requirements:
- Field of studies in Science, Tech, Engineering or Business disciplines, preferably with focus in IT.
- Fresh graduates are welcomed for non-supervisory roles. At least 5 years of relevant experience for the team-leader position.
- Relevant experience in enterprise architecture; project or product management; UX design; or data governance is an advantage.
- Proficiency in enterprise architecture methodology and terminology is an advantage for EA planning roles.
- Proficiency in design and management of customer management systems or websites is an advantage for product management roles.
- Proficiency in UX design tools, experience in UX development environments, and familiarity with frontend technologies like Power Apps, HTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Responsive Web Design are advantageous for UX positions.
- Understanding of data governance principles is an advantage for Data Policy roles.
- Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and innovative.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-changing environment, manage multiple projects, and handle ambiguity.
- Demonstrate integrity and a drive for excellence.
