A leading private investment firm in Singapore is seeking an Operations Manager to drive operational improvements across its portfolio companies. This role involves direct collaboration with founders, project management, and ensuring growth objectives are met through effective execution and team alignment.
Sum Capital is a private investment firm focused on identifying, building, and scaling high-potential businesses across Southeast Asia. We back founders and operators with a bias toward action, discipline in execution, and long-term value creation. Our current portfolio spans industries including consumer goods, F&B, and services. One of our most active ventures is Sum Dim Sum, a rapidly scaling lifestyle brand.
We are seeking a Operations Manager to work closely with founders and internal teams to drive operational improvements, execute playbooks, and prepare businesses for the next phase of scale. This is a hands-on operating role, not an office-based investment role.
As a Operations Manager, you will act as the bridge between strategy and execution. You will be embedded across portfolio companies (starting with Sum Dim Sum), responsible for ensuring that systems, teams, and performance metrics are aligned with growth objectives. You will diagnose problems, implement SOPs, structure data flows, and help teams execute better and faster.
This is ideal for someone with management consulting, operations, or startup COO experience, looking to build value from the inside.
Work directly with founders and frontline teams to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities
Design and implement scalable SOPs, processes, and dashboards across business functions (Ops, HR, Finance, Supply Chain)
Own performance metrics and reporting across portfolio companies, ensuring visibility and accountability
Prepare teams for growth initiatives such as outlet launches, product rollouts, or new markets
Manage cross-functional operational projects (e.g., setting up inventory systems, cost audits, vendor consolidation)
Establish clear rhythms for communication, review, and execution at ground level
Support investor reporting and internal stakeholder updates with real data
Over time, take on operational oversight across multiple portfolio companies
2 - 4 years of experience in operations, management consulting, or private equity operating teams
Strong project management and process design skills
Comfortable working at both strategic and execution levels
Data-driven with working knowledge of operational metrics and financial levers
Hands-on mindset; willing to work on-site with portfolio companies when needed
Excellent communication and change management abilities
Experience in consumer-facing businesses (F&B, retail, services) is a plus
Prior exposure to growth-stage or founder-led companies
Familiarity with tech-enabled tools for workforce, finance, and performance management
Degree from a top-tier university in Business, Engineering, or related field
Direct exposure to private equity operations and company building
Significant ownership and autonomy across high-growth businesses
Opportunity to scale into a portfolio COO or operating partner role
