NHG Health seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to perform a range of eye investigations essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment. You will conduct HVF testing, ocular imaging, and OCT, and assist in anterior segment and refractive surgery assessments.

The role requires a Diploma in any discipline with IT/Engineering/Biochemical background preferred, and a strong focus on patient safety and effective communication. On-site position in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Diploma in any discipline is required or preferred.
• IT/Engineering/Biochemical background preferred to support IT-related tasks.
• Experience with ophthalmic investigations is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Perform ophthalmic investigations essential for diagnosis and treatment.
• Carry out HVF testing and ocular imaging per clinical protocols.
• Assist with anterior segment and refractive surgery assessments.
• Maintain safety and accuracy during patient interactions.
• Participate in department projects and hospital initiatives.

The ophthalmic technician performs various eye investigations essential to the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• CLINICAL CARE

Ophthalmic Investigations

• Humphrey Visual Field (HVF)
• Photography and document the ocular structures in optical images
• Spectralis OCT (SPOCT)

Ophthalmic technician sub-specialty investigations includes eitherand/or :

Anterior Segment assessment

• OPD Scan
• Endothelial Cell Count (ECC)

Refractive Surgery assessment

• Corneal Topography (Orbscan and Galilei)
• Optical Abberation (HOA) (Zywave)
• Cornea Central Thickness (CCT) (Ultrasound Pachymetry)

SAFE CARE

• Practice due diligence during all patient interactions to ensure safety of the patient at all times.
• Undertake corrective actions immediately and consistently when feedback given.

RESEARCH & QUALITY

• May assist in department projects.

GENERAL & AD-HOC DUTIES

• Actively involved in hospital and department’s initiatives e.g. eye screening events
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
