Job summary

GSK in Singapore is seeking an Operations Technician to lead day-to-day production activities, coach technicians, and collaborate with engineers and quality colleagues to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable supply. You will use practical problem solving to remove barriers and improve how we work.

You will mentor junior staff, participate in readiness activities for campaigns, and contribute to continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment with focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • NITEC, ITE, Polytechnic diploma or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, production, or technical trades.
  • Practical experience operating and maintaining production or utility equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or mentoring team members in a production environment.
  • Clear written and spoken English and strong record‑keeping skills.
  • Able to work full time on‑site during the day shift and support handovers as required.

  • Perform set-up, changeovers and handovers while ensuring correct procedures and documentation are followed.
  • Coach and mentor junior technicians and operators through on-the-job training and feedback.
  • Carry out routine equipment inspections, basic maintenance and preventative tasks using hand tools and work with engineers for complex fixes.
  • Support investigations into operational issues, gather evidence, and help implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Suggest and lead small improvement projects that increase efficiency, reduce waste or improve quality.
  • Take ownership for safe and compliant operations across your area each day.
  • Ensure batch records, logbooks and other documents are accurate and meet good documentation practice.
  • Run effective shift handovers and team briefings to keep work coordinated and transparent.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality and materials colleagues to resolve issues and maintain supply.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ensure work areas meet site safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Help lead readiness activities for campaigns, trials or new process transfers as required.

Basic Qualification

  • Familiarity with materials handling equipment and inventory practices.
  • Basic computer literacy for recording data and using production systems.
  • Interest in progressing into technical specialist, process support or supervisory roles.
