We are looking for a hands-on, proactive Workshop Operation Manager to lead our heavy machinery repair workshop operations. If you’re experienced in managing engineering repairs (e.g. excavators, bulldozers, cranes), operating CNC machines, and skilled in leading teams, this role offers you the platform to make a real impact.
You’ll oversee daily job execution, ensure high-quality work delivery, manage manpower, and continuously enhance operational efficiency. This role is crucial to maintaining our workshop’s standards of safety, productivity, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Job Planning & Execution
Oversee daily repair job flow and ensure timely completion with minimal errors.
Assign tasks across departments: welding, CNC machining, turning, milling, hardening, etc.
Track job progress and resolve operational bottlenecks quickly.
Implement SOPs and quality control checks (alignment, tolerances, part integrity).
Collaborate with project managers and update stakeholders regularly.
Ensure strict compliance with WSH and MOM regulations.
Manpower & Workshop Management
Lead and supervise foremen, technicians, and production assistants.
Conduct on-the-job training and coach staff for improved performance.
Promote a culture of ownership, safety, and accountability.
Monitor attendance, approve OT, and optimize manpower allocation.
Maintain proper stock levels for parts and consumables.
Requirements
NITEC/Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Min. 3 years in workshop operations; at least 1 year in a supervisory/managerial role.
Hands-on understanding and execution of repair workflows: welding, machining, turning, CNC, and hardening.
Track record of leading technical teams and improving workshop efficiency.
Able to speak both English and Mandarin (to communicate with Chinese-speaking staff).
