Job description

Operations Solution Partner

The Good Food Institute APAC (GFI APAC) is at the forefront of the movement to use food technology to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger, to antibiotic resistance and the exploitation of animals. We are developing the roadmap for a sustainable, secure, and just protein supply, making sustainable proteins accessible, affordable and delicious. Please check out our website and Year In Review to find out more about who we are, what we do, and why.

We are looking for an Operations Solution Partner in Asia to support the Asia Pacific operations team as we build our programmes and impact.

How You Will Make a Difference

GFI APAC’s Operations Team drives regional excellence by overseeing finance, human resources, and legal compliance for the regions where GFI APAC operates, and providing administrative support to our programmatic experts in SciTech, Policy, Corporate Engagement, and Communications teams, as well as the Executives.

In collaboration with our Vice President of Operations, you will serve as an operational advisor and hands-on implementer across GFI APAC and our regional counterparts in South Korea and Japan. You will translate our team's needs into practical solutions, build and improve internal systems, and implement processes that support clarity, efficiency, and a thriving team culture.

Reporting to our Vice President of Operations, you will:

Operational Advisory

  • Proactively identify operational gaps, propose enhancements, and initiate solutions to improve collaborations and productivity.
  • Advise regional teams in Japan and Korea on systems or process improvements, supporting alignment with APAC-wide standards.
  • Contribute as a solution partner to internal initiatives and events, and provide insights and recommendations to ensure operational cohesion and program effectiveness.
  • Assume an interim role for other functional areas within the Operations Team when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in a small agile team.

System and Process Optimisation

  • Lead the administration, training, and optimisation of key productivity platforms (i.e. Asana, Salesforce, Slack), including SOP development, onboarding resources building, and ongoing support to ensure team’s adoption and effective use.
  • In partnership with departmental leads, advise on solutions, build, and continuously improve operational systems and workflows that enable efficient cross-functional collaboration, including OKR tracking, team-facing budget planning, and HR processes such as performance enablement and leave management interfaces.

AI Technology and Data Solutions

  • Research and advise on new tools, AI-powered solutions, and automation opportunities to improve workflows and efficiency across functions.
  • In consultation with the leadership, embed best practices in data management, cybersecurity, and responsible AI use in our policies, and provide team training.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or Computer Science, with at least 5 years of experience in operations, systems streamlining, and/or process improvement focus.
  • Advanced studies or certifications in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum) are highly preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with key productivity tools such as Asana, Salesforce, Slack, Google Workspace, or similar platforms is essential.
  • Basic coding knowledge, including HTML and Google Apps Script, or equivalent scripting familiarity.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Zapier or Make.com.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and improving internal systems or workflows, such as onboarding, planning tools, knowledge sharing, or team coordination processes.
  • Ability to translate complex operational needs into clear solutions, including building SOPs, training materials, and onboarding resources.
  • Proven ability to advise senior leaders and regional teams on process improvement and alignment strategies.
  • Solid generalist knowledge of office and business operations, and prior experience working in a startup, nonprofit, and/or remote work environment is an advantage.
  • Capable of taking initiative and managing multiple concurrent projects with high attention to detail and follow-through, proficient in prioritisation and time management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset.
  • Comfort working flexibly, both remote and onsite, and in a rapidly growing and evolving organisation - the ability to work well independently and under pressure.
  • Strong support for GFI’s philosophy and mission; demonstrated interest in alternative proteins, public health, environmentalism, sustainability, animal protection, or hunger relief.
  • A commitment to GFI’s values: believe change is possible, do the best we can, share knowledge freely, act on evidence, and invite everyone to the table.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

We want the best people, and we don’t want biases holding us back. We strongly encourage people of every race, orientation, age, gender, origin, and ability to apply. Because we value a diverse workplace, we prioritise an inclusive climate absent from discrimination and harassment during the application process and after you join the team.
