Operations Officer/Executive, Air Import/Export
(Location: Alps Avenue)
Basic Function
The incumbent will provide operational support in air import and export operations. He or she will ensure that air freight requirements are met, contributing to the overall business objectives and delivering the customer’s strategies.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Arrange shipment collection and traffic coordination
- Plan consolidation and troubleshoot
- Ensure that export/import job files are checked in the system and supplier invoices are registered as passed promptly. Responsible for completing the job process.
- Ensure that pre-alerts are sent in a timely manner to customers
- Execute export documentation, customs formalities, invoicing, cargo canvassing, and bookings
- Place bookings with airlines and/or co-loaders
- Respond to overseas offices/partners' emails
- Assist in ensuring safety and security compliance by stopping suspicious cargo for further processing and report immediately to the supervisor/manager. Handle all Dangerous Goods according to IATA Rules & Regulations.
- Prepare invoices with accurate charges to customers promptly
- Adhere to security procedures as per Regulated Air Cargo Agent Security Programme (RACAR)
- Perform any other duties assigned by superiors, including working after hours, on public holidays, and on-site jobs.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 'O' Levels or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in air freight operations handling export/import activities; minimum 1 year for Officer (junior) role
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Experience in air freight operations and documentation
- Willing to work on public holidays and weekends due to operational needs
- Able to work under tight deadlines
- High integrity and strong commitment
- Good knowledge of import/export procedures and documentation, with an interest in continuous learning
- Team player, able to work independently
