What you will be doing

As Operations Manager, you will be leading a team of (Sr) Ship Operators. Accountable for ensuring (Sr) Ship Operators have the training and information needed to execute their job efficiently. Assisting Deepsea Operations Manager(s) with establishing and updating operational procedures, customer or region-specific procedures and customer relations.

Key Responsibilities

• Accountable for the day-to-day operations of assigned (Sr) Ship Operators.
• Provides guidance to (Sr) Ship Operators as needed to meet commercial requirements.
• Performs all duties and functions of Ship Operator.
• Accountable for the coordination and training of new Ship Operators.
• In cooperation with other Operations Managers ensure adequate coverage for STJS ships.
• May act in the absence of the Deepsea Operations Manager(s).
• Ensure operational or logistical instructions to ships by (Sr) Ship Operators are sent with due regard for all safety, regulatory and procedural requirements.

Qualifications

• Logistics and/or Business-related education is preferable.
• Maritime License (unlimited) from an accredited institution is an advantage.
• Significant experience with Ship Operations preferred.
• In-depth working knowledge of chemical tanker operations.
• You are commercial minded to be both operationally hands-on as well as take profitable operation positions for the company.
• Established understanding of Maritime procedures, including knowledge of International Conventions related to carriage of chemicals in bulk.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in verbal and written English, must have strong communication skills.
