A waste management company is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to oversee the handling of hazardous waste. Responsibilities include managing waste operations, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations, and supervising warehouse staff. Candidates should possess a degree in Environmental Science or related fields, along with relevant certifications in hazardous waste management. Strong leadership and crisis management skills are essential for this role, crucial to uphold safety and compliance in high-risk settings.
Core Purpose & Objectives:
1. Critical functions include managing incoming waste, transport, warehousing, labeling, compliance, and safety.
2. Oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant receipt, storage, and dispatch of hazardous waste at a dedicated operations hub.
3. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, transport logistics, and workplace safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills:
a. Education: Diploma/Degree in Environmental Science, Logistics, Chemistry, or related fields.
b. Certifications: Hazardous Waste Operations (e.g., NEA-Certified Hazardous Waste Manager), DG Handling (e.g., SCDF HAZMAT Transport Permit), Workplace Safety (e.g., BizSafe Level 2/3, WSQ WSH Diploma).
c. Technical Skills: Proficiency in WMS, DG transport software, knowledge of waste coding (Singapore Waste Codes, UN numbers).
d. Soft Skills: Crisis management, regulatory liaison, team leadership, meticulous attention to detail.
Reporting & Metrics:
a. KPIs: < 0.5% non-compliance incidents, 98% on-time dispatch, zero lost-time injuries.
b. Reports: Weekly operational summaries, incident logs, and compliance dashboards for management.
Work Environment:
a. Risks: Exposure to chemical hazards; PPE required.
b. Physical Demands: Frequent walking in warehouse settings; emergency response readiness.
Note: This role is critical for ensuring regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and reputational integrity in high-risk waste handling. Familiarity with Singapore's Resource Sustainability Act and NEA's Guidelines for Hazardous Waste Management is essential.
