Our client is a leading crude oil and natural gas trading company based in Singapore. They specialise in the sale and distribution of crude oil and LPG, catering to global markets. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a dedicated Operations Executive to join their dynamic team.
Report to: Head of Operations & Chartering
【 Responsibilities 】
- Perform Vessel operations(CFR / DAP / FOB), vessel vetting, loading/discharging/inspections instructions, demurrage management, cargo insurance matters and related troubleshooting.
- Operational communication with oil terminals, including urgent responses.
- Liaise with buyers, sellers, charterers, shipping brokers, terminal operators, joint venture partners, Trading team, Middle office team, Finance and Administration Team and related team in HQ to ensure that all the contractual obligations arising from cargo deals and charter parties are met.
- Liaise with the finance team to facilitate smooth invoicing and payment for cargo, freight and all operational expenses.
- Liaise with buyers, sellers, shipping brokers, ship owners, terminal operators, joint venture partners, etc, to ensure smooth operations, avoid supply disruption and minimise demurrage costs.
- Ensure demurrage claims are submitted within the time bar to prevent defaults.
- Facilitate negotiations with counterparties to resolve outstanding demurrage claims promptly, including negotiating reductions in the claimed amounts when necessary.
- Record/update the database related to the operational transactions
- Conduct lifting operations following relevant Offtake agreements and related agreements (possibly including review and cover Offtake agreements and related agreements)
- Attend the necessary meetings with buyers, sellers, shipping brokers, ship owners, terminal operators, joint venture partners, Trading team, Middle office team, LNG team, Finance and Administration Team and related team in HQ ,etc
- Record/update the database related to the above transactions
- Collaborate closely with traders to coordinate various aspects of cargo handling, working together with the team to drive adjustments and solutions as needed.
- Provide support during nighttime when necessary to address troubleshooting and communicate with regions in different time zones.
- Perform other ad hoc assignments if necessary.

【 Requirements & Preferences 】
(Must)
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime studies, Logistics, Commerce, Law, or a related field relevant to Maritime studies.
- 3 years of relevant experience in an oil/gas trading company, handling vessel operations and coordination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and IT-savvy to be able to use other software/platform required for trading & operations
- Experience in Tanker or VLGC operations is a must
- Knowledge of Maritime law and upstream contracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to adapt to trading & operations software/platforms.
(Advantageous)
- Familiar with working in a Japanese company
- Ability to commence within 1 month or on short notice
