Job description

Purpose of the Role
This role is ideal for experienced professionals—particularly older workers seeking work-life balance—who possess strong trade finance knowledge and enjoy straightforward operational work. You’ll be covering Letters of Credit (LCs), shipping documents, and cargo operations in a low‑volume environment, while benefiting from flexible working hours, a friendly workplace culture, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

1. Trade Finance & LC Handling (30%)

  • Draft and review LCs to meet contractual and banking requirements.
  • Prepare trade documents to comply with LC terms.
  • Liaise with traders and banks to process LC issuance, amendments, and document submissions.
  • Monitor LC deadlines, track usage, and assist in managing bank credit lines.

2. Finance & Administration (30%)

  • Process supplier and buyer invoices.
  • Assist with payment preparations and track receivables/payables.
  • Support the finance team with audits, reconciliations, and trade-related documentation.

3. Trade Operations Support (40%)

  • Coordinate cargo loading and discharge activities with inspectors, agents, shipbrokers, and customers.
  • Conduct basic vessel screening, manage cargo nominations, and prepare simple shipping documents.
  • Track vessel schedules from load to discharge and maintain accurate operational records.

Requirements

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience, ideally in Oil & Gas trading.
  • Knowledge of UCP600, LCs, Incoterms, and shipping documents (e.g., Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin).
  • Familiarity with vessel operations, port processes, and shipping terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other administrative tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication and coordination skills.
