Operations Engineer (Oil Terminal)

Job Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing and managing all operational activities at the terminal to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of terminal facilities. The position requires strong leadership in supervising daily terminal operations, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures, work instructions, and HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage, lead, plan, and supervise all terminal operations to ensure the reliability and efficiency of terminal facilities.
• Ensure that all activities carried out at terminals are executed safely and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and HSSE requirements.
• Have the capability to write and review Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Monitor and perform preventive and corrective maintenance at the terminals.
• Review Risk Assessments submitted by contractors.
• Plan and implement the annual preventive maintenance program, and maintain all maintenance and inspection reports in compliance with statutory requirements.
• Supervise contractors at the terminal during maintenance work and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
• Maintain an inventory list, monitor stock variances, and prepare the monthly closing report.
• Manage Opex and Capex expenditures for the terminals, ensuring all expenses are within the approved budget.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Background in terminal operations is preferred.
• Able to troubleshoot independently and confidently make decisions regarding corrective maintenance.
• Experience in fuel operations, including road tanker and vessel operations, would be an advantage.
• Capable of multitasking and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience is preferred.
• Able to perform under pressure, with strong leadership skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to be a good team player.
