Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Operations & Business Development Manager to lead and optimize the day-to-day operations of our food business. This is a strategic, multi-functional leadership role involving comprehensive oversight of operations, procurement, logistics, staffing, customer experience, and business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring structure, drive operational excellence, and continuously improve processes to support business scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Oversight
- Supervise daily shop operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, food safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for procurement, logistics, shop closing, and inventory control
- Monitor costs and ensure quality sourcing strategies are applied for all ingredients and supplies
Staff and Resource Management
- Oversee daily staff activities, including rostering and performance tracking
- Manage HR functions such as leave scheduling, onboarding, and staff training coordination
- Provide coaching to team members and promote a strong customer service culture
Supply Chain and Procurement Strategy
- Manage supplier relationships and oversee sourcing of fresh ingredients and supplies
- Forecast demand and ensure proper inventory management and stock rotation
- Minimize waste and ensure cost-efficiency across the supply chain
Customer Experience and Front-of-House Standards
- Develop and implement customer service protocols to enhance the in-store experience
- Address customer feedback and resolve service issues in a timely manner
- Monitor customer preferences and recommend changes to menu or service offerings
Business Development and Marketing
- Propose and support marketing campaigns and promotional strategies
- Analyze sales and operational data to inform business decisions
- Assist in the planning of seasonal promotions and potential business expansion
Administrative and Coordination Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for external vendors, partners, and internal teams
- Ensure accurate documentation, proper licensing, and compliance reporting
- Assist the company director with operational reporting and business planning
Requirements:
- Proven experience in F&B or retail operations, preferably in a leadership or management position
- Strong organizational, people management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple operational functions
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and initiative
- A valid Singapore driving license is preferred for occasional logistics-related tasks
