Job summary
A leading company in trade finance is seeking a candidate to assist with the issuance and negotiation of Letters of Credit. The role involves liaising with banks and suppliers, ensuring compliance with shipping documents, and analyzing market trends. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Logistics or Maritime Studies and 2-3 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in commodity trading or related fields.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of UCP600 is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Trade Finance Department with issuance and negotiation of Letters of Credit.
- Ensure shipping documents are compliant with LC requirements.
- Liaise with banks, customers, and suppliers for timely processing.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Trade Finance Department with the issuance, advising and negotiation of Letters of Credit.
- Ensure shipping documents are prepared in compliance with LC requirements.
- Liaise with banks, customers and suppliers to ensure timely processing of trade finance instruments.
- Prepare deal recaps and sale contracts
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to support strategic trading decisions
- Vessel tracking and commodity price checks on relevant trade transactions
- Ensure smooth loading and discharging operations to prevent demurrage
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in commodity trading or related fields
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies or related disciplines
- Strong communication and coordination skills with an analytical mindset
- Meticulous, well organised and able to perform well under pressure and tight deadlines
- Knowledge of UCP600 is an added advantage
