Department Overview

The AEJ Operational Risk Management Team is an independent risk management group (second line of defence) overseeing and ensuring risk management at the Firm level. The Associate Operational Risk Manager is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the operational risk management framework within the organization and helping identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risks across various business units.

Responsibilities
Risk Assessment & Identification
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and identifying potential operational risks
  • Support the development and maintenance of risk registers
  • Participate in risk control self-assessments (RCSAs)
Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare regular operational risk reports for senior management
  • Document risk incidents and near-misses
  • Maintain operational risk documentation and procedures
  • Track and report on risk mitigation activities
Process Improvement
  • Support the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures
  • Identify areas for process improvement and control enhancement
  • Assist in implementing risk mitigation strategies
Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with business units to identify and assess operational risks
  • Provide guidance on risk management practices to stakeholders
  • Support training initiatives related to operational risk management
  • Liaise with internal audit and compliance teams
Qualifications & Skills

Core Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Risk Management
  • 4+ years of experience in risk management or audit
  • Experience working within an Asset Management business / function
  • Understanding of operational risk management principles and frameworks
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CISA)
