A leading company in the woodworking sector is seeking a Production Executive to oversee daily operations in their carpentry factory. Job Scope:
The Production Executive is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising daily carpentry production activities to ensure smooth workflow, quality control, and timely project delivery. The role involves working closely with carpenters, supervisors, procurement, and project teams to meet production targets while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
Assist in planning daily and weekly production schedules based on project timelines.
Allocate resources (manpower, materials, machinery) to optimize productivity.
Track work orders and update the production schedule accordingly.
2. Floor Supervision
Oversee the production floor to monitor progress and troubleshoot issues.
Ensure correct fabrication procedures are followed based on shop drawings and specifications.
Support carpenters and machine operators in technical or coordination matters.
3. Quality Control
Conduct visual and measurement checks on finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
Report and document any defects, deviations, or non-conformities.
Liaise with the QA team for inspections and rework follow-ups.
4. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with the project, design, and site teams for clarification on drawings and client requirements.
Liaise with procurement for material readiness and shortage alerts.
Communicate any delays or resource constraints to the Production Manager.
5. Inventory & Material Usage
Monitor usage of raw materials (wood panels, laminates, hardware) and minimize wastage.
Assist in stock checks and ensure materials are prepared ahead of production needs.
6. Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety procedures on the production floor in compliance with WSH standards.
Report any accidents, hazards, or unsafe practices immediately.
Ensure that staff use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly.
7. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain records of production output, rework, downtime, and manpower usage.
Prepare daily production reports for review by management.
Update project status reports and highlight potential risks or delays.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
At least 2 years of experience in carpentry, woodworking, or furniture production.
Able to read technical drawings and interpret fabrication requirements.
Familiar with woodworking machinery and materials (e.g., plywood, MDF, veneers).
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) is a plus.
