Job description

Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business unit has delivered more than 4,000 projects over the last 15 years. Our Grid Integration portfolio spans a wide range of transmission and substation applications, which facilitate reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimum environmental impact.

We incorporate the integrated systems, solutions and services of our business' DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Grid and Power Quality solutions such as offshore wind connections, and Semiconductors. We offer Power Consulting for key segments in the energy system, such as renewables, transmission distribution and e-transportation solutions.

The Opportunity:

Overseeing the country operations management and ensuring profit & loss and business growth through the local representation of the Global Product Group. Responsible for driving profitable growth of the structure, by implementing and providing input to a global strategy. Acts as the main managerial focal point within the local operating unit including but not limited to the operations and site development.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will implement the Global Product Group strategy in the Country/Cluster, and ensure business development, including profit and loss (P&L), in domestic and allocated market.
  • You will provide input to Global Product Group strategy, participate in Local Business Unit strategy development in partnership with the local management team.
  • You will ensure the development of performance targets in line with global targets, achievement through regular oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed, evaluate market opportunities and decide appropriate activities in line with the strategy.
  • You will ensure profitable business growth in the domestic and allocated market, oversee production and/or execution of high-quality products, services and processes, monitor quality metrics, identify opportunities for improvement in local execution and oversee improvement activities.
  • You will ensure the execution of projects according to agreed targets in terms of schedule, quality, financial results and customer satisfaction.
  • You will oversee relevant local Research and Development initiatives, build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • You will ensure (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed, guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.

Your background:

  • Tertiary education in engineering degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 12 to 18 years in P&L experience and 15 years Engineering in a Substation or Power sector.
  • Excellent Power System and Substation Engineering knowledge.
  • Leadership skills to lead a team of 50 members.
  • Excellent communication skills.
