Job summary

TECHEMERGE SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. seeks an OpenShift Infrastructure Engineer to manage patching and vulnerability management on the OCP Platform and Linux servers.

You will ensure uptime, performance, and compliance of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform in line with bank standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on OCP requirements, upgrades, and troubleshooting; participate in discussions to improve efficiency, and plan deployments and DR tests.

Qualifications

• Experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) on Linux servers.
• Ability to plan deployments, upgrades, patches and DR tests.
• Experience providing L3 support for OCP configurations and services.

Responsibilities

• Ensure uptime, performance and compliance of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Linux servers.
• Collaborate with Design, Change & Run teams and Development teams on OCP requirements and usage.
• Participate in technical discussions to improve engineering efficiency and cost savings.
• Plan deployment, installation activities, upgrades, patches and DR testing.
• Provide L3 support for Red Hat OCP including change, administration, performance and availability.
• Provide deployment support and fixes for OCP configuration and implementation.
• Perform assessments and health checks of existing solutions and provide best-practice recommendations.
• Advise on patch/system upgrade and migration of OCP environments, including operators for OCP.
• Escalate Red Hat OCP configuration issues and coordinate with vendors for resolution.
• Coordinate with network, Wintel, IT Security, and storage teams as needed for upgrades.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and scripts for OCP environments.

Main purpose of the role:

To be responsible for the patching and vulnerability management of OCP Platform and Linux Servers.

Roles& Responsibilities

• OpenShift Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the uptime, performance and compliance of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) in accordance to the bank standard.
• This role will support and collaborate with Design, Change & Run team on top of Application and Development teams on OCP requirements, standards and the use, optimization and troubleshooting of all features in OCP & its tools.
• This role will participate in technical discussions to share ideas and provide feedback in continuing the improvement of the Engineering team in areas such as cost savings, technology adoption & operational efficiency.
• Plan the deployment & installation activities, upgrades, patches and disaster recovery test.
• Provide L3 support for Red Head OCP, which includes change, system administration, performance and availability management.
• Provide deployment support and fixes of Red Hat OCP configuration and implementation.
• Perform assessments and health checks of existing solutions and provide best practice recommendation and guidance to L2/L1 team.
• Provide Technical assessment and advisory in relation to patch/system upgrade and migration of OCP environment, including the operators for OCP.
• Assist/Escalate Red Hat OCP configuration & services and container issues, working in collaboration with other relevant IT areas and vendor support towards a quick and effective resolution.
• Work with other technical teams including network or Wintel or IT Security or storage engineers and vendors, as necessary, to support system upgrade and maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation related to design, configuration, usage, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, etc., for all OCP environments.
• Provide scripts to manage the OCP environment.
