Talentvis is looking for an Open Innovation Manager for its well-renowned internationally acclaimed client in the automotive industry.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for leading the design and implementation of open innovation initiatives, including strategic collaborations with startups and emerging ventures, to identify, pilot, and scale transformative technologies and business models.
Key Responsibilities
Innovation Strategy
- Translate overarching corporate objectives into actionable innovation roadmaps and thematic focus areas (e.g., Mobility-as-a-Service, EV infrastructure, etc.).
Open Innovation Management
- Source, assess, and engage with startups, scaleups, and innovation partners aligned with strategic technology and business priorities.
- Design and execute initiatives such as open calls and hackathons, and establish governance frameworks and tools to track progress, manage risks, and ensure deliverables.
- Maintain a dynamic portfolio of innovation projects and partnerships.
- Oversee the complete innovation lifecycle—from idea sourcing and evaluation to proof-of-concept and pilot execution.
Innovation Culture & Communication
- Foster a culture of innovation through internal engagement activities, demonstrations, showcases, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Qualifications
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in innovation, R&D, product development, or startup collaboration, preferably in the automotive, mobility, or technology sectors.
- Educational background or equivalent experience in related fields.
- Proven experience managing open innovation programs or startup accelerators.
- Strong understanding of the innovation ecosystem across the Asia region, including startups, venture capital, and academia.
- Capability to assess the technical and commercial potential of emerging technologies.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with practical experience in agile and lean innovation methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of emerging mobility trends (e.g., EVs, ADAS, AI, sustainability).
- Strong business acumen and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, multicultural environments and handling ambiguity.
- Willingness to travel within Southeast Asia.
Preferred Skills
- Technical expertise in areas such as electrification, ADAS, AI/ML, IoT/connected devices, mobility data ecosystems, or sustainability.
- Ability to coach and mentor teams in innovation methodologies and practices.
