Job summary

Zenith Infotech (S) Pte Ltd seeks a Database Administrator to migrate, upgrade, configure, troubleshoot, and administer database platforms in production and non-production environments while ensuring IT compliance adherence.

Responsibilities include creating databases, tuning performance, managing backups, and DR recovery. Strong SQL/PLSQL skills and CIS familiarity are required, with onsite work in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computing, Electrical Engineering, IT, or equivalent.
• Experience in system administration for enterprise database environments.
• Strong understanding and practical use of SQL and PL/SQL programming.
• Familiarity with IT compliance standards such as CIS across Windows and Linux.
• Ability to analyze and resolve database-related problems quickly and effectively.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to document and report database status and issues.

Responsibilities

• Create and configure new databases and database networks following guidelines for structure and file layout.
• Review and enhance database scripts and procedures to improve transaction and log management.
• Maintain and execute regular database maintenance schedules for optimal performance.
• Monitor backup, recovery, and replication processes to ensure successful completion.
• Perform disaster recovery for critical systems and rebuild production or DR servers as needed.
• Analyze and tune database performance through SQL query optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
• Document daily system checks and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Report monthly on database size, uptime, and performance metrics.
• Review, update, and document database administration and operational procedures regularly.
• Execute other ad-hoc duties to support database operations.
